What to wear? | Santa Clarita Portrait Photographer

As a new feature here on the Santa Clarita Baby Network our members will be blogging about their fields of expertise, I guess I'm first! It's that time of year again and the calls are rolling in to book appointments for family photos for holiday cards and gifts. The first question I get is "what should we wear???" Outfits that are coordinated but not exactly matching are always winners! Make sure everyone is comfortable in their clothes or it will show on camera that they're not. Avoid logos, lettering, or distracting graphics. Pick a color pallet that you will enjoy hanging on your wall all year. To help with your decision making here are some visuals for families big and small. Family photos should be fun! So ditch the itchy sweater vest and stiff poses and make sure your family photos capture you at your best this year.

Our First Seminar!

Last night, we hosted our first Santa Clarita Baby Network Seminar. It was a huge success. We had a great group of new/expecting families in attendance. Drs. Horowitz discussed two main topics: “Swine Flu & Babies” and “Sick Season: When To Call The Doctor”. They also had a questions and answers session where the forum was opened up to parents to ask anything! Some of the topics discussed were breastfeeding, starting solids, sleep training, and much more.

The evening started off with a meet-and-greet where expectant/new families had a chance to meet some of the SCV’s best “baby” businesses. This forum provided an intimate opportunity for families to get to know the business owners and ask specific questions about their specific businesses.

The night ended with everyone’s favorite activity- a raffle. Over $1,000 worth of prizes were given out to the families. Everyone had a great time! Please check out the Family Beat section of The Signal newspaper- our event was covered! More details to follow!

Expectant families are invited to learn about new baby care!

VALENCIA, CA, September 17, 2009— The Santa Clarita Baby Network is pleased to welcome The SCV’s latest bundle of joy— The Santa Clarita Baby Network’s first seminar! The Santa Clarita Baby Network is a unified group of quality businesses that service new families in the Santa Clarita Valley. Together, they form a unique group providing access to a wide variety of services in every stage of pregnancy and new parenthood. Available to all families in the Santa Clarita Valley, The Santa Clarita Baby Network is offers quarterly seminars to expectant families. This quarter’s seminar will be held on Thursday, September 24^th at 6:00pm at Gymboree of Valencia. This seminar will be featuring Drs. Horowitz of Discovery Pediatrics.

The Santa Clarita Baby Network Seminar will be highlighting two main topics, “Sick Season For New Babies- When To Call The Doctor?” and “Important Information On Swine Flu and Babies”. Drs. Horowitz will also be holding a question and answer session at the end of the seminar. Families are invited to bring questions for discussion on any topic pertaining to new babies.
